Barely somebody comes in the Danziger street without pausing from the window of thepuppet art studio and amazing the figures, which look at you and make amusing grimaces and tell you mysterious stories. This fairytale world in which everything is possible presents you queens, dragons, magicians, traders, bateleur eagles, oriental narrators and also a medieval court with amazing animals and creatures.

Since these puppets tell her life and experiences if one puts his hand in the glove. and listens to them. Children and non-adult look at them and know immediately what is true with them. If they are taken, they are straight away a confidant and friend with which everything can be trusted. They find a special place with us – also in our hearts. Barely one can become faster happy.

The atelier is located in the lively and trendy heart of Hamburg, in the famous district of Saint Georg, direct near the main train station and downtown.

Saint Georg – The whole world in one district. “ Worldwide village ” is what residents call their district.

Kaum jemand kommt in der Danziger Straße am Atelierfenster von Figurart vorbei ohne innezuhalten und die Mundwinkel in die Breite zu ziehen. Die Figuren sehen uns an und wir sind gefangen von lustigen Grimassen und geheimnisvollen Geschichten. Königinnen, Drachen, Zauberer, Händler, Gaukler, orientalische Erzähler und ein mittelalterlicher Hofstaat mit eigenwilligen Tieren zeigt seine Märchenwelt, in der alles möglich ist.

Denn diese Handpuppen erzählen ihr Leben und Erlebnisse, wenn man sie in die Hand nimmt und ihnen zuhört. Kinder und Nichterwachsene sehen sie an und wissen sofort, was mit ihnen los ist. Werden sie mitgenommen, sind sie sogleich Vertrauter und Freundin, denen alles anvertraut werden kann. Sie finden einen besonderen Platz bei uns – auch in unseren Herzen. Kaum kann man schneller glücklich werden.

Das ganze bunte Ensemble ist von Valerie Bayol unter eigenem Label handgearbeitet. Sie zeigt auch in Workshops, wie man diese Figuren aus Holzmaché selbst herstellen kann. Abseits der Langen Reihe gibt es in St. Georg immer wieder kleine Perlen zu entdecken. Eine davon ist das Atelier figurart in der Danziger Straße 40. Das Atelier gegenüber vom Spielplatz haben vor allem die Kinder schnell entdeckt, als es von Valérie Bayol 2011 eröffnet wurde. Die St. Georger Puppen- und Figurenmacherin, gebürtig aus Südfrankreich, hat es vor über 20 Jahren nach Hamburg verschlagen.
