The marvellous world of Valérie Bayol

Barely somebody comes in the Danziger street without pausing from the window of the puppet art studio and amazing the figures, which look at you and make amusing grimaces and tell you mysterious stories. This fairytale world in which everything is possible presents you queens, dragons, magicians, traders, bateleur eagles, oriental narrators and also a medieval court with amazing animals and creatures.

Atelier Figurart is situated in the heart of the St. Georg district, benefiting from its immediate proximity to Hamburg Central Station, as well as numerous shopping and dining options. Residents often call their district a “Global Village.” Within just 1.8 square kilometers, a unique intersection of cultures has created a scene that is as fascinating as it is diverse.
St. Georg is unconventional and edgy, chic and queer, and always good for a headline. Life here is iconic. Renowned artists and creatives feel just as at home on these vibrant streets as business people, trendsetters, and lost souls. It is the fascination of difference that makes this area so attractive to open-minded people.
The world of St. Georg begins just on the “other side” of the Central Station. From here, it is only a few steps to the popular Museum of Arts and Crafts (MK&G) and Germany’s largest theater, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus. Right after, the Lange Reihe begins—arguably one of the most eclectic, diverse, and authentic stretches in Hamburg. Alongside long-standing traditional craftsmanship, international specialty shops, and local corner pubs, the “world of luxury” is also discovering the district, with high-end boutiques and trendy bars drawing in new crowds. It is a place caught in the whirl and dance of life—and not just during Christopher Street Day, the parade for the proud LGBTQ+ community.

The atelier is located in the lively and trendy heart of Hamburg, in the famous district of Saint Georg, direct near the main train station and downtown.
